Swapping Secrets and Using Words

First, I want to apologize to my fellow swappers and UYW folks. I have been in the process of relocating from Kentucky to Florida and it has been hectic, to say the least. Rather than write two different posts, I okayed it with Karen and decided to combine them into one post. So, I present to you, the first crossover post for secret subject swap and use your words.

When I entered the contest for an all-expense paid trip to a sandy beach, I didn't expect that beach to be located in a Point Barrow, Alaska. It was supposed to be a surprise trip, one that we would really enjoy.

Oh sure...we will enjoy it. If it's possible to enjoy a beach when the temperature is less than 60 degrees.

IN JUNE!!!!!

But I digress.

On our first night, we decided to patrol the beach. It was beautiful. It was serene.

It was cold.

So, my husband, being an awesome man, decided to be my knight in tinfoil (or it looked like tinfoil because he was wearing a very shiny, silver coat) and build me a fire. We cuddled under the stars and just enjoyed being together.

Until, that is, a miniature polar bear decided to crash our party!!  It was absolutely adorable, though. It was still a baby and was trusting to us and let us pet him in a lovingly gentle way. What WASN'T so lovingly gentle was when his mama came and told us, in a frightening way, to leave her baby alone! Let's just say there was growling and screaming and running. Only minor scratches, nothing a little nitrogen peroxide couldn't handle!

After waking up in the hospital in this Alaskan town, suffering a concussion at the hands...er..um...paws of an angry mama bear, I pretty much have decided that I won't have the desire to visit this place again.

I'm pretty sure my husband won't either........we have the scars to remind us!

As I mentioned, this is a combo post, for the Secret Subject Swap and the Use Your Words challenge. My subject was "You, and your family, won a full paid vacation for one month. No limitations. Where do you go?" and it was submitted by the lovely mama over at Dinosaur Superhero Mommy. My words were patrol~sandy~nitrogen~lovingly gentle~miniature~knight in tinfoil and they were submitted by the awesome Jules from The Bergham Chronicles. Thanks ladies!!! Sorry it took so long!
Here are the links to the participants of both challenges. I combined them into one list, but they are all one of a kind!
